THE HISTORY – WHY DID WE NEED A CANBOARD?

Gregg from RVHaulers utilized a commonly sourced product at the beginning of his career. There was only one old-school product available at the time – named the Jackalopee.  This dated product was engineered over 20 years ago based on the needs of that time-frame.  As Gregg continued to use this old-school product, he was taking too many calls from customers experiencing wires coming loose and system failures.  Clients expressed considerable frustrations being unable to troubleshoot when wiring or braking was not working.  Gregg himself was frustrated with the limiting size, poor reliability and inability for expansion.  He was always having to “jerry-rig” the Jackalopee to do everything his modern RVHauler builds demanded.  He was having to manually add external busbars and expansion capabilities to make is RVHaulers even work the way he wanted.

Gregg from RVHaulers has always been one committed to “continual improvement.”  He started to dream of building his own system that had no limitations, reliable connection systems, and was ready for all the expansion options his customers dreamed of and demanded.

CANBoard Highlights:

• Advanced Conversion: Seamlessly converts 3-light DOT truck signals to 2-light RV/Trailer systems.
• Engineered in Canada, Built in Canada:  Gregg’s goal was to NEVER have a customer call with a wiring issue.  If you find one day that your trailer lights don’t work – Gregg wanted to KNOW that the problem was with the truck wiring – never his CANBoard.  Reliable high-quality components – No Chinese Junk (Gregg’s words). 
• Not Initially Intended for Sale:  Gregg from RVHaulers designed this for his own private RVHauler customer use.  He has been using it on all his RVHauler builds for 6 years.  He has NEVER had a CANBoard fail.   As his customers bragged about the special features in this board, others in the industry started to ask for access to purchase this CANBoard.
• No More Unreliable Spade Connectors:  The old-school system relied upon spade connections.  With time and driving vibrations, these spade connections can come loose.  With accidental touches, these connections can come loose.  Instead, Gregg designed the entire board with screws, lock washers and ring terminal connections. 
• Over Engineered to meet Gregg RVHaulers Picky Standards:   This device was custom engineered to meet Gregg’s RVHauler build requirements.  His customers accused him of being “anal” and “particular”.  This shows throughout the design of the CANBoard.   The old-system had only one ground point.  Gregg’s CANBoard has 14 ground connections!  Gregg DEMANDED that if there was the need for one wire to be connected – provide TWO connection points.  Never “share” a connection point.
• Allows Simultaneous, Reliable Commercial and RV Wiring Outputs:  Run BOTH commercial AND RV wiring connections at the same time.  The old-school tiny converter system was extremely difficult to work in when wanting to make any changes or additions.
• Bold Clearly Visible Labelling:  Gregg’s eyes aren’t what they used to be.  He demanded big and bold clear lettering.  Just follow the color coding, and hook up your incoming and outgoing wires. 
• Easy Additions of LED lights, Bed Lighting, Under glow, and Extra Signal Lights:  If Gregg or his customers dreamed it – it was included in the design! 
• High-Capacity Output: Rated for 90A (Charging/Braking) and 60 A (Lighting) to support heavy-duty hauling. 
• Integrated Power Hub: Dedicated terminal provisions for brake controllers, 12V DC power, and backup lights and flexible lighting and power
• 2 Switched (ignition key activated), and 2 Always-on fused expansion ports:  Install a fuse size of your choice, and you can add up to 4 12 volt powered systems.  Designed for charging, LED light controllers, or any 12 volt devices.  When the fuse blows, an indicator LED illuminates for fast troubleshooting.
• Visual Diagnostics: Clear cover allows for instant verification of system status via onboard LEDs.  LEDS show both incoming, and outgoing functionality. 
• LED Illumination: Press a switch, and perimeter LED illuminates all the connections and on-board labelling.
• Digital Voltage Meter:  With the press of a button, you can confirm that not only is there power to the board, but the digital meter lets you know the exact voltage coming from your battery bank.
• Powder Coated STEEL Mounting Back Board:  The red solid steel powder coated structure allows for various mounting positions. The board is designed for interior mounting – see the installation video for recommendations.

Gregg has asked us to be frank and blunt.  You have to watch the installation video to understand the tools, time and basic wiring skills needed to install this device.  The team at RVHaulers is actively building RVHaulers every day for their clients.  Only due to the public demand, we have made the CANBoard available.  The team at RVHaulers needs to stay focused on completing their customer committed RVHauler builds.  If you need advice, or find issues with your truck wiring, they charge for hourly tech support.   Tech support is only available on a scheduled, billable basis.
