This engineered and pre-manufactured CANBed can be bolted together in ONE DAY with TWO PEOPLE!  No heavy lifting, no special tools, and it NEVER RUSTS!  You can have the CANBed customized exactly to your length needs to accommodate almost any individual vehicle (<6000 lbs) you want to put on your RVHauler.  

DO IT YOURSELF - NEVER RUST, LIGHT and STRONG -

Our DIY CANBed system is fully certified and has been engineered (New York engineer stamped drawings) to carry up to a 6000 lb vehicle (or combination of vehicles adding up to 6000 lbs) on the bed surface.  NEVER RUST structure. The top surface, sides, skirting and even the interior strength components are made from a pultruded carbon fiber reinforced polymer that is incredibly strong and surprisingly light.  This bed material is lighter than aluminum, but stronger than aluminum. 

EVERY BED CUSTOM to your specifications - With a few supplied measurements from you, we will pre-build your bed, assemble it, and show you the finished DIY CANBed.  We then disassemble it minimally, and ship it to you.  

INEXPENSIVE START ALTERNATIVE?  Do you only need a small platform for a smart car?  Do you want to only take a motorcycle.  We can make a bed even smaller and less expensive.  We welcome your email ideas!

TRACKING - We can pre-install all the tracking and tie-down locations your heart desires.  Or, source your own tracking and install it yourself.  Tracking supply and installation prices determined at time of order.

MODULAR – DIY CANBed – We will work with you to build a bed and ship it to you!  With our modular system, you can start off with a simple flat deck solution, and make it longer or shorter later on.  Add boxes later with the PORCUPINE Storage Box Support Option!

LIGHTING - You can wire your own lights - we recommend using 3/4" button LED clearance lights.  OR, add the optional wiring kit that includes plug-and-play 

We also CUSTOMIZE our bed sizes, and features to meet the travel goals of our clients.  We don’t force you to “make-do” with a Smart Car bed that someone has in stock and is pre-painted simple black.  Instead, you get to choose the bed length to accommodate what ever you want to load within our weight limits of 6000 lbs.   

COST EFFECTIVE MODULAR DESIGN – From inception it was our goal to have a bed that could be quickly produced for our clients.   We minimize our assembly costs this way, and produce a cost-effective bed that beats the price of the old-school steel beds we and others built for years. 

Do you want to take an adventure vehicle like a Jeep Wrangler or Ford Bronco?  WE CAN DO THAT!  Do you want to take a sports car?  WE CAN DO THAT!  ATV, ebikes, side by side SXS, motorcycles, Harley, golf cart – any combination or length.  And YES, we can still build the Smart Car bed length.  We will accommodate dual or single rear axles.

MORE MODULAR – NO MORE RIP AND REPLACE – An industry first!  Your investment is retained should you wish to change the vehicle configuration later.  With old-school steel beds, if your travel plans or toys change later – YOU WERE STUCK!  You had to RIP and REPLACE the steel bed.  With our CANBed system, it is modular, and you leverage what you already own, and can add or modify the system later down the road.

PAINTING – YOU can paint the DIY CANBed any color!  The surface first needs to be scuffed with a red Scotch Brite Pad, primed, and then painted.  Optionally we also recommend applying paint-matched bed liner for a very durable surface.

• Smart Cars - 6 feet of dedicated bed space allocated to the car (load from the side) plus the necessary tail section to allow your attached 5th wheel.
• 2 Door Jeep / Bronco - 14 foot long vehicle.   Allowing 14 feet of dedicated bed space to load the Jeep / Bronco / Side by Side / Car etc.  (load from rear).  
• 4 Door Jeep / Bronco - 16 foot long vehicle.   Allowing 16 feet of dedicated bed space to load the chosen vehicle.  (load from rear).  

ORDER PROCESS - Use our pricing in this RVHaulerStore to get an idea of the bed price.  However, you can't immediately order without speaking to us.  Save the cart!  Email us when you are ready to order   We need to talk before you order!  Some discussion and planning with you is needed first to ensure we have handled your wishes for length, lighting, storage, ramps, tie-downs and tracking options.

UNDERCARRIAGE CLEARANCE - ensure you have the necessary undercarriage clearance of 6" to go over the 5th wheel hitch when loading from the rear.  If loading a low-clearance vehicle, we have the systems to safely load.  Talk to us!

UNDERBODY STORAGE BOXES - Add our optional Porcupine Box Storage Box support system to add either 48", 36", 24" or 14" storage boxes under the bed.

It is MODULAR. You can start off with a smaller bed initially, and add length components later on.  Add storage boxes now (or later).  Add one of our CANDrom storage boxes now (or later).  Your investment is retained should you wish to change the vehicle configuration later.

It is compatible with either dual rear axles or single rear axle RVHaulers.  It is compatible with ANY heavy truck Class 8 truck (Volvo, Mack, Peterbilt, Kenworth, Freightliner, Western Star etc).  It is not designed for medium duty or pickup trucks.

Pricing NOTE:  The longer the bed, the greater the price. The pricing you are seeing is for a bed designed to take a 2 Door Jeep or similar vehicle approximately 167 inches long. If you want it longer or shorter, the price is adjusted accordingly.  Talk to us for EXACT pricing.

Some details to note:

You are responsible for lengthening your truck frame, and installing the hitch.  Please use qualified and experienced individuals for any frame modifications.  We will build the CANBed based on some simple measurements you provide us.  Measuring from the back of the cab (BOC) we need to know exactly where the centers of your rear axle(s) are positioned.  Measuring from the BOC, we need to know exactly where your hitch is positioned.  We need 4 inches of frame rail extending beyond your 5th wheel hitch to support the rear most component of the CANBed.  Don't worry - we send you very detailed instructions on how to measure and prepare the steel frame of your truck.

The design does not allow commercial 5th wheel hitches - only hitches such as ET SR, Air Safe, and Trailer Saver.
