OVERHood CANDrom - Upper Storage Cabinet is 6 feet wide, 42" tall feet tall, 46" inches deep

WHY – Some RVHauler builds are looking to keep our length reduced as much as possible, yet still be able to get some storage above the bed.  Our “Standard” drom placed behind the back of the cab takes up 16 inches.  This allows us to position a vehicle up closer to the back of the cab, and still take some of our necessary treasures in our travels.

MATERIAL - Made from our unique fully engineered CANBed material, this drom will NEVER rust!  The material is stronger than aluminum, and lighter than aluminum.  The Upper Cabinet is MASSIVE! 

DIMENSIONS - The entire assembled OverHood CANDrom Cabinet shown here is 6 feet wide nearest the back of the cab, overall 8 feet tall, and 44 inches deep.  The top surface is great for mounting solar panels.  The wide opening front face of the drom “table” structure is 101 inches wide.  This allows you to drive even a tall a lifted Jeep under the cabinet.  The OverHood CANDrom storage cabinet itself is 42 inches tall, 44 inches deep, and 6 feet wide.  This is a MASSIVE 77 cubic feet of storage. 

PAINTING - The structure can be painted any color!  Do It Yourself!  The surface first needs to be scuffed with a red Scotch Brite Pad, primed, and then painted.  Optionally we also recommend applying paint-matched bed liner for a very durable surface.

INSTALLATION – The cabinet and table are disconnected when shipped.  With the table flipped upside down, on a 4X8 pallet, the cabinet enclosure is placed inside.  They are the shipped together.   You will need a hoist, forklift, or similar piece of equipment to lift the assembled system onto your RVHauler.

FLEXIBILITY - The removable shelves and flooring sections, allow for tall objects (such as ladders, oars, flagpoles, fishing rods etc) to use the full height of the drom storage.  The shelves and flooring panels can be slid sideways so they can be quickly re-deployed (positioned) if your storage needs change.  The material can be easily drilled to allow for interior or exterior mounting of lights, cameras, hooks, attachment points.  Unlike drilling a hole in steel droms, this material can’t rust from a new hole.

HARDWARE - The compression latches are all keyed alike, and are powder coated for longevity.  One quick push of a button, and they spring open.  The spring-loaded hinges are rated individually to 150 lbs, and are manufactured with a high grade polymer material – again chosen for never rusting!  The interior hinge pin is stainless steel.  With a supplied allen key, you can choose a self closing strength, or adjust each door for a neutral tension if you wish.  The assembly bolts, washers and nuts are all factory hot-dipped galvanized to ensure long term rust resistance.

WEIGHT CAPACITY – As this is a very tall structure, you need to be cautious to place lighter contents in this OverHood Drom.  This is not for loading up with all your tools, chains, and gold bricks!  Instead focus on placing things like chairs, BBqs, pop up shade structures, outdoor carpets, folding tables, spare hoses, and totes with lighter contents in this Drom. Please be conscious that you will have to lift the contents up and down with a ladder.  We recommend a 5-foot step ladder for loading and unloading contents.  A 5-foot ladder is perfect, as it allows the doors to swing open past the top of the ladder.

Please, put heavy items in the side storage boxes underneath your bed.

REPAIRS:  If there should be a failure in a hinge, compression latch, or a material flaw, we are able to ship replacement pieces.   In the case of a side panel, shelf or door, we can ship you a new one!  What is a nice advantage is should you do significant accidental damage to a door or even a side panel, unbolt it, and install the replacement piece I send you! In the case of accidentally scratching a surface, you can scuff it, fill with standard filler, prime and paint.
